Will you consider volunteering?
A note from our pastor:
I’m reaching out to our parish family to help our young families who want to be involved and engaged at Mass and participate in discipleship groups. Many hands make the load light. If we had 10-12 volunteers for Sunday morning, you would have just one Sunday a month where you are serving in our dedicated child care room. If you are available in the evenings or one Saturday a month, we have needs you can fill for our young families to participate. Please prayerfully consider giving your time, if you can, so others can be fed who are in a different season of life.
A background check and Protecting God’s children are needed to provide this service. The next opportunity at St. Francis is October 21, 6-9 pm. The parish will reimburse you for the cost of your background check. Please keep the receipt.

Encountering Christ in our School
Damascus Retreat Center is reversing the trends by awakening, empowering, and equipping a generation to live the adventure of the Catholic faith so that they may transform the world. Our 6th graders had this unique opportunity this week. They are surrounded by God’s creation in a beautiful setting, engaged in high adventure and activity and finally, they are opening their hearts to Christ’s love.

28th Sunday in Ordinary Time
“Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Luke 17:18
Most of us live “easy” lives. We have food, shelter and clothing. We go on vacation every year and own a car or two. Most of us take this all for granted. Did you ever notice that people with the least amount of possessions are usually the most grateful? Shouldn’t this be the other way around? Take time every day and thank God for all He has given you.
Learn how you can give thanks to God by supporting your parish and contact The Catholic Foundation. Visit www.catholic-foundation.org/development for more information.
