Meet Matt Stone!
Anyone who has ever seen Matt knows he’s dedicated to his work here! In fact, he’s so dedicated he rides his bike to volunteer at the parish nearly every day! You’ll usually find Matt in Johnson Hall assisting the funeral teams with set up, serving and clean up. He helps with Alpha Hospitality, and at Social Hour. Quite frankly, Matt helps us keep the parish looking great in general by cleaning and straightening up all around our campus, even down the church pews (plus he takes the recycling to the local recycling bins). Matt is definitely an unsung hero around here – be sure to say hi and let him know his gift of time and talent is forever appreciated.
Ministry Fair after all Masses April 27 & 28!
“We are moved by the Spirit to serve others.”
Come and see the opportunities to put your faith in action here at St. Francis and in our surrounding community! You committed to spend time learning and growing in faith in the fall. You committed to our offertory and are making our mission possible:
To Make Disciples and Disciple Makers
. The ministry fair will have many opportunities to take the next step in service and leadership in our various ministries from altar serving to jail ministry, from leading discipleship groups to serving the poor and so much more. Come to Johnson Hall to see how you can serve the Lord in a new way.
Divine Mercy Sunday, April 28:
Join us at 1:00 pm on April 28th for a Holy Hour of Adoration, Chanting and Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
A Plenary Indulgence may be gained by the faithful in connection with the celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday. This indulgence applies to those faithful who accomplish the following criteria:
Be in a State of Grace (detachment from sin)
Have sacramentally confessed your sins within a month (before or after)
Pray for Pope’s intentions (in the bulletin 1st and last Sunday each month)
Most of us have been doing this all through Lent, so come and receive this indulgence as we revere the Blessed Sacrament and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet!
“God Makes Every Grace Abundant”, the theme of the 2019 Bishop’s Annual Appeal inspires us, as people of Faith, to place our trust in God and bring hope to those who most need to feel His love. Works of kindness and assistance, sometimes in the smallest way, can bring about a profound change in a person’s life. Through the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, we have an opportunity to bring about a positive change in the lives of many of God’s people. Through your generosity, you are supporting the various ministries and programs that are vital in spreading His love. This week is Commitment Weekend for the Appeal, at which time you can make your gift or pledge. Our parish has been asked to raise $125,797.93. We can accomplish this if, after prayerful consideration, everyone gives what they can. Any amount raised over our goal will be returned to our parish to be used for our particular needs.
